ECG in High Intensity Exercise data was extracted from a larger dataset collected through a collaboration between the Embedded Systems Laboratory (ESL) of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland and the Institute of Sports Sciences of the University of Lausanne (ISSUL).
The dataset was collected in order to specifically address the difficulties posed by electrocardiogram (ECG) monitoring during high-intensity physical exercises, in which a number of artifacts that hinder the interpretation of the signal can be observed. A set of 100 single-lead ECG recordings from 20 patients during 5 different stages of a high-intensity cycling exercise is provided. Manual annotations for all the QRS complexes from an expert physician have also been included along with the raw ECG.
